Electronics are some of the stuff to be packed before a move. We are living in the golden age of technology and surely we have a number of electronics devices to pack when moving as computers, laptops, video games or televisions all are the high investment of money and we don’t want to damage them while moving.
But we are filled with the dread of trying to fit each electronic piece into boxes and risk of not being able to set them all correctly in a new place. Here are some smart tips which we can consider while packing electronic things efficiently while moving:
Tip 01: Product Manual: We should always consider the manufacturer’s advice for packing the electronics and storing them as well. They are expert in their field and know better various ways of protecting the products. We should consult the owner’s manual or manufacturer’s website for more details.
Tip 02: Boxes for Repacking: We should consider the original boxes and packing materials for repacking as much as possible as sometimes we are not able to find perfect packing materials that fit well.
Tip 03: Important Packing Material: If we do not have original packing, then we should consider these essentials such as strong cartons, newsprints to wrap things up, tape, scissors and markers to number and label each box.
Tip 04: Color Stickers for Cords: When we disassemble electronics like computers, stereos and many other devices, we leave ourselves with numerous cords. We should attach small colored chits on each cord and the same chits where the cord connects to the device. This will save out our time to figure out starting and end points.
Tip 05: Temperature in Store: There are many sensitive electronics such as computers and televisions that may need to be stored in climate controlled units.
Tip 06: Valuable Items: For decreasing the chance of leading unwanted attention from potential thieves, we should place small and expensive items such as stereo and TV in unmarked boxes.
Tip 07: Wrapping of Electronics: For minimizing the damage lead by dust inside electronic devices, we should wrap them in linen or clean paper.
Tip 08: Packaging Tape: If we have sealed the boxes completely with packaging tape, we can keep them out of dust.
Tip 09: Extra Protection: For ensuring extra protection, we should cover electronics with moving pads, sheets or light blankets.
Tip 10: Inventory List: If we make a list of all the components in the box, we will be able to make sure that all the stuff has been packed up and no need of efforts for searching particular thing.
