Nanotechnology is the field which covers the design and study of the devices on a scale which is less than 100nm. It is barely a few hundred atoms across. Various nano-scale devices are transforming science across a broad spectrum of fields from the ultra high speed processors to the super accurate sensors. It also includes medicine and the environment.
The course of the nanotechnology is emphasis those areas which are directly relevant to the contemporary electronics. It is forming a part of a broad and strong core programme in electronics as well as provides many opportunities in order to build and characterise nano-scale devices.
If we are the students of nanotechnology engineering, we will graduate with the knowledge which is required in order to operate with confidences as a designer, operator or manager in the expending world of the nanotechnology. This course offers a broad range of modules and specialisations as well as provides various opportunities in order to explore the different areas of engineering.
The course of nanotechnology electronic engineering is a 3 year course in which each year, we will come up with the new knowledge and concepts.
- 1st Year: We will learn about the basics in electronic principles, circuits, components and devices etc. we will be provided with the strong emphasis on the mathematics and computing which also includes learning of the C and Python programming languages.
We can also develop our practical skills, designing and building the complete products as a part of the laboratories and group projects. We will come to know the key concepts and applications of nano-science.
- 2nd Year: In the second year, we will learn to analyse and design various hardware and software systems. We will also get the opportunity to study the material which also includes nanofabrication and analysis, algorithms as well as Java programming.
This gives us the opportunity to apply our skills of design and engineering, problem solving and management of projects.
- 3rd Year: In this year, we will study about the range of advanced core as well as option modules. We will have the opportunity to focus on our interest as well as investigate the new ways of electronic engineering. We will work on a major individual project. By using the knowledge and skills, we would be able to enhance our research and designs.
As soon as we progress, we will cover the topics such as electronic hardware designs, Java programming etc.
